The first few weeks are a blur of broken sleep, big feelings and not much of a routine — and that's completely normal. You might feel useless one minute and fiercely protective the next. Both are fine.
You don't have to have it all figured out. Take the night feeds you can, learn by doing, and let people help. The bond grows through the ordinary stuff — carrying, changing, soothing — not one perfect moment.
